Too late

Sorry, this post is a little late.
Over the weekend we visited the Durien garden of my family and stayed there for the night. the area is nice - Chantaburi, only the weather was a bit wet.
Thursday, Cake, her friends and me met in front of school and then went to Grand Palace (Pictures on fb). After we went into a mall and did some karaoke. It is pretty fun to sing songs that are completely in Thai and all you do is try to sing the text at least a little bit correct. It was very funny.
After I we went outside and on the stairs two guys came our way and they were talking German. So I said: "Hey, Deutsche!" Holding my hand up for a clap. The guy was totally confused. "Hallo!?" Then he saw my hand clapped and I went down the stairs to my friends. I think this guy had a weird day :) .
Last week were midterm exams. That means only three days of school. Two on which you write all the exams and Friday when we visited the temple and brought the candle we made last Friday. I only took three exams. Maths: failed but only 3 points and I'd have passed. so next time I'll study a bit more and everything is fine. English Reading and Comparing: I have 17 or 18 out of 20 points. So that is really good. And last English Literature: I don't know how many points. I only did the second part because I didn't know there would be a first part. So I failed definitely, but I had only been here for a week. So no one really cares.
This weekend there's is nothing much gonna happen. I think. I never know. See you all soon I hope - on skype or something. :)

First real week

First week survived. First school day, speach in front of ALL the students, first time I was homesick, first visit to China Town.
Everything went surprisingly well. Bangkok is still overwhelming. I wouldn't find our house, if I was more than 200m away. But I have the feeling everything is getting better.
I found some friends in school. Even if their names are still giving me a hard time. Everyone is friendly and taking care of me and Ele. I hope I will never forget (that's why I write it) the moment when ten or more Thai students stood around me. And holding the sports uniform in front of my body to see if it fits. Sometimes I feel like a baby but I get feed A LOT and they take me to the toilet and show me around. I think being a baby has its advantages.
My home sick almost disappeared. Right now all I desire from time to time is German food. Thai food is sweet and spicy and they eat a lot of fish and I like each of that. But I would give all I have for a good Currywurst Pommes. This is a plead to Mum and Dad. When I am back please prepare Currywurst or Rotkohl. Anyway most important MEAT. I miss meat.
I know this was a lot about food. Maybe I start thinking a little Thai because really. Food is number 1 on the What-Matters-List.

In order to tell something more interesting. Chinatown. Chinatown is overcrowded and it smells. Not as bad as you would think it would when you see all that food lying outside. Our visit was quite short, but it was hot so... Well actually it is hot everyday.

Tomorrow is Monday again. And Midterm Exams start. I will write my first English exam about a few chapters of a book which I still have to finish. Nothing I couldn't do tomorrow.

I think I'll post every Sunday. It is the most relaxed day. And I am really too lazy to post more often.

Week of Arrivals

Today I arrived at my new family's home. It is very nice and everyone is being very friendly and patient. I stayed in the hotel since my arrival in Thailand on wednesday. My roommate was Hanna. The preparation was good and yesterday there was a Welcome party for all of us. There are more than 150 exchange students in Thailand now. Many Italiens, Germans and Americans. But also from other countries.
Tomorrow I will visit my school together with my advisor. Tuesday is going to be my first real school day. I have to introduce myself in front of the whole school during assembly. I am very excited. Hopefully everything turns out well. :)
